Visions and Values

Our visions and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Our Ethos

‘We live, love and learn in our work and play as part of God’s family.’

Our Mission statement underpins all that is done at our School. We aim to create and maintain an atmosphere where every person in our school community is valued and respected, regardless of race, gender and ability. We expect and encourage children to work hard and to respect their environment. We hope to encourage positive self-esteem and a sense of belonging.

St. Rose’s School enjoys positive, valued relationships within the parish and Community which foster a sense of continuity and commitment. We work closely with the Diocese and our Parishes. Our School Chaplain is Fr. Brian and he says masses, leads liturgies and talks to the children on an informal basis. Fr David also provides support and advice for staff on liturgical themes.

Our Values

As a Dominican School, we follow the four Dominican Pillars: community, study, mission and prayer.  At St Rose’s, we have identified the values that we wish to develop within the school and have allocated 3 to each of the pillars.  These are taken from learning behaviours and Gospel values.  Through collective worship and lesson time, the children will be taught about our values and how they can demonstrate them in daily life.  House points will be awarded to children who demonstrate these values in school.

Faith Development

We aim to offer opportunities for pupils to develop an understanding of their faith and develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally. The children's faith is developed by the use of the “The Way, the truth and the life” programme used consistently throughout the school. Participation in Feast Days throughout the year and regular worship in classes and assemblies are an integral part of the children’s faith development.

Inspection Report

Our most recent RE inspection took place in 2021. Please view the attached report which recognises the good RE teaching and learning at school and the outstanding Catholic life of the school.

All Saints Catholic Academy Trust (ASCAT)

Formed in 2016, as part of the Diocese of Westminster's Academy Strategy, we provide a collaborative structure of school support and innovation for Catholic schools in South West Hertfordshire. Our vision of an 'Outstanding Education for All' comes from this desire to enable all members of school communities to flourish and succeed and to do all that we can to make our schools places where ambition for all is at the heart of everything that we do.
